malady - tongue like a serpent. remember after city of caterpillar broke up and this band formed and everyone felt like 5% less bad about there being no more city of caterpillar.  short record, but each song is a sub-3 minute epic.

first track off the best hot snakes record. i know everyone likes audit in progress better, but the thing is while audit is no doubt faster and more stripped down, suicide invoice is about 1000x more musical and creative while still being pretty fucking heavy/fast/despondent.

seaweed - antilyrical   first track off the last record i think? great opener for an otherwise mediocre record with only maybe 2 or 3 upbeat songs of it. but no doubts this song’s good. fast/relentless = solid!!

heatmiser - blackout   great alt song

katie the pest - golden   i realize this song is fucking 5 minutes long and should only be 2, but the guitar part is just too fucking good. most of ktp’s songs are not that good. i can deal with this, though.

eiafuawn - no more like that. i think this is the dude from mohinder or some old emo band. i didn’t like the rest of the record, but this song is really complex and interesting. i can deal with slow music as long as it’s interesting, like some of the better/older badly drawn boy or heatmiser songs.

mclusky is mostly known for that ‘road to hell’ song, but this is actually the best song off that particular record, and also an example of a perfect grunge song.

tar babies - more salt.     one of the very few bands that did songs like this that don’t suck. kind of a split between lync and old faith no more. which i should probably post next.

i’m going to try and post good alternative songs for the next little while. i realize songs like this paved the way for total shit, but this song is a banger, no doubts.
